IndieGameScout Is Live - Track Any itch.io Game's Stats on Your Own Computer

IndieGameScout is live on itch.io - a one-time $12 desktop app that tracks any game's rating, price, and jam results, plus views, downloads, and earnings.

itch.io only shows you today’s numbers. You can see how many views your game has right now, but not how it got there. Did that update actually help? Did the rating move after the jam ended? By the time you think to look, the history is gone.

I used to make games on itch in my spare time, and I kept running into that same wall. And heard a lot of users asking for better tracking tools. So I built a tool for it.

IndieGameScout is live - a desktop app that tracks any itch.io game’s stats over time and keeps the history on your own computer. One-time $12, no subscription.

What it does

Paste any itch.io game link into IndieGameScout and it follows the game’s rating, how many people have rated it, and its price, day by day. Add a jam’s results page and watch the top 20 shuffle around as votes come in. Entered the jam yourself? Pin your entry and follow your climb up the list.

Connect your own itch.io account with a private link from your itch settings - no password, no signup - and it pulls in views, downloads, purchases, and earnings for everything you’ve published. Checked daily, charted forever.

How it works

It runs on your own computer - Windows, macOS, and Linux. It checks stats every 12 hours or whenever you hit Refresh, and charts the history over time. The data lives in a local file on your machine: no account, no cloud, nothing to sync. Your watch list exports to a file you can open in Excel whenever you want.

Pricing

One-time $12, no subscription. Updates install themselves.

I’ve also been writing about the build in the itch devlog, and there’s a full write-up in the case study - the problem, the approach, and how it works under the hood.
