The Problem
itch.io only shows you today’s numbers. You can see how many views your game has right now, but not how it got there. Did that update actually help? Did the rating move after the jam ended? By the time you think to look, the history is gone.
I make games on itch in my spare time, and I kept running into the same wall. I wanted to know whether my changes were working, and there was no way to look back at anything.
The Approach
I built IndieGameScout as a desktop app that runs on my own computer. It checks the stats I care about every 12 hours, keeps the history, and charts it over time. No account, no cloud - the data lives in a local file, and I export or back it up whenever I want.
Watch any game
Paste any itch.io game link - yours, a friend’s, one that’s doing well - and IndieGameScout follows its rating, how many people have rated it, and its price, day by day. Wondered “did that update move the chart?” Now you can see it.
Follow jams
Add any jam’s results page and watch the top 20 shuffle around as votes come in. Entered the jam yourself? Pin your entry and follow your climb up the list.
